At Marhbabikoum, we recognize that our activities have an impact on the world around us. However, we are committed to minimizing the negative impacts on the environment through a policy of deliberate and responsible management.
In line with this policy, we are committed in a process of labeling, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environment, to get the label "The Green Key "which rewards the hotels meeting the water and energy reduction objectives and operating a waste management adapted to local means. We obtained our green Key label in 2012.
To achieve our goals, we pledge to :
. Educate our employees, customers, suppliers and the local community to environmental aspects.
. Set goals and targets and create an environmental screening process.
. Continually improve our environmental performance and reduce the environmental impact of our activities.
We are happy to share with our customers the means we use to implement this policy.
What we have already done :
. Having double pressure Flush toilets.
. Regularly check that neither the faucets nor the shower leaks.
. Provide washing towels on request.
. Making our own cleaning product in the traditional way (vinegar, baking soda and essential oil of thyme)
. Equip a part of the establishment in light bulbs.
. Unplug electric water heaters when rooms are unoccupied.
. Having renovated the house on the basics of traditional earthen building (except for added rooms on the terrace), . Reducing the need for artificial air conditioning.
. Have installed a tarp over the patio, limiting the escape of heat in winter.
. Buy towels in certified organic cotton.
. Set up a monitoring of energy and water consumption every day.
. Install aerators on taps and showers where need.
. Identify all the bulbs that can be replaced by "low power"
. implement of a policy of labeled green cleaning products’s purchase.
. Produce ourselves, ultimately our fruits and vegetables through agro ecology.
. Provide baskets to clients and staff to avoid the proliferation of plastic bags.
. Encourage our employees and our customers to reuse, recycle and reduce waste.
. Use recycled paper whenever possible.
. Make a half-day awareness to children in an eco school.
What you can do :
. Limit your consumption of water and energy by not washing your towel every day.
. Limit your consumption of energy by turning off electrical devices during your absence (light, air conditioning, heating ...)
. Prefer our baskets to plastic bags, real plague in Morocco.
